My Ko-fi Journey

With all the drama and confusion happening over on yonder parts of the Internet, I’ve not managed to sit down and actually articulate what I am doing, and what I plan to do on Ko-fi. It’s been just barely a year since I started getting more active on the site, and I’ve seen a wonderful bit of interaction with my content there that has been encouraging.

Can you believe I’m a Ko-fi Ambassador? I still can’t!

The thing I’ve noticed with Ko-fi is that having a schedule has helped me stay on track. Since I’ve started using the site more, I’ve kept to a three-times a week schedule, and it has gained me views – and tips! and members! – that I would not have otherwise had. Next year, I plan to (try to) up my game.

While this year saw me posting exclusive short stories every quarter (so, three this year since I started getting more active after the first quarter for the year was completed), next year the plan is to post one every month. Incite my members, and invite more members with a little more consistent rewards for all tiers.

– forward (tier 1): once a week first look at fics (barring big bangs and exchanges) 24-48 hours before everyone else; exclusive requests on Discord whenever you would like in a member-exclusive channel
– acknowledgements (tier 2): as above AND once every month either flash poetry or a behind the scenes look at WIPs
– dedications (tier 3): all of that AND exclusive content (short stories) once a month

I will admit, seeing it laid out like that, it sounds ambitious. But I’ve already gotten four short stories written out and about three more plotted. I’ve started a few new art pieces and write poems often enough.

What I do want to work on more is consistently adding things to my Ko-fi shop. In the next few weeks, I plan to add a few printables for the New Year (plus a sale so be sure to watch out for that!) and some printable stickers for events next year. I am figuring out shipping for the physical bookmarks I’ve designed and printed, and would love to add them to the shop.

While health (both physical and mental) has been a struggle for me this year, I am hopeful – and grateful – that I will keep getting better. This journey is something I truly want to go on and share with you. With creating can come community, and that is what I am hoping to find and create and nurture.

So between stories and arts and (fingers crossed!) some commissions, I hope to have many things to create and share with you in 2023.

  • Are you on Ko-fi? Link me below, I’d love to give you a follow and support you when I can!
  • What type of content do you like to see?
  • Have you read any of my stories? I’d love to know your thoughts. (Shamelessly asking for validation, my friends.)

I don’t know if I’ll post again until 2023, so have a good holiday season and New Year!
